In Roman mythology, Flora was a goddess of flowers and the season of spring. Her festival, the Floralia, held at the end of April and beginning of May, represented the renewal of the cycle of life. Out of a period of a winter of the imagination where nothing was growing for me, my Flora, garlanded with flowers, birds, and insects, emerged at the beginning of the calendar year, a harbinger of life and creativity.
