"Dreaming of Spring" is a gift for my mom. I grew up watching her be creative in many different ways -- sewing, crocheting, round dancing, gardening, making stained glass, quilting -- all while raising nine children. My mom never does anything halfway!
In this piece, I began with the idea of a black outline of a kitty staring at a full, silvery moon. While working on the moon, I had the idea of colorful little quilt blocks floating all around on the kitty. That way I captured two of my mom's favorite things -- quilting and kitties. I painted the night sky a deep midnight blue and used several different textures of glass for interest.
