As a gardener, I have always been slightly unhinged by the growing popularity of faces in the garden. I find them rather macabre, ranging from clay head pots nailed to fences like some awful sacrifice, to one particular cast face always nearly buried along a secret path. When I set out to make my own Green Lady, I wanted to make her appear alive with bright and watchful eyes, Mother Nature serenely watches the goings-on -- as she has since time began.
