I've been fascinated by the use of layers in mosaic and the opportunity to create an illusion of depth. A pond mosaic offered a unique chance to experiment with objects on the surface and objects below, as well as an effort to show the movement and life of a pond. The garden pond is immediately inhabited by frogs, their presence always marked by the loud chirp and plop of jumping frogs as you approach.
