"Chili Ice emerged out of a warm bowl of chili on a cold winter's day. The robust colors of the ingredients conjured up warmth in the form of chillies, beans, tomatoes, and spices. I have spent 2011 exploring the revelation and concealing nature of ice in its many forms. The colors in a chili bowl swirl under clear glass colored with alcohol inks, bringing a comfort food warmth to the viewer. Pat was born and raised in Wisconsin and currently calls Menomonee Falls her home. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee in 1984. While raising and supporting her family, she kept her artistic muscles in shape by working in a variety of media, finally settling upon mixed media mosaics in 1999."
