This mosaic by Charlotte artist Tom Thoune is composed of 36 vignettes across a 360 foot wall along the light rail line. Thoune collected pottery and china from Mecklenburg County residents to create the cog-shaped works that celebrate South End's mill history. This is a rare example of a large-scale public mosaic worked entirely in pique assiette.
